These are the most common questions from new and returning swim families.
 
Where are swim lessons held?

Lessons are held at private host pools in the South Bay area (Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Torrance, Redondo Beach, and surrounding beach cities etc.). The general area will be listed during booking and scheduling, and the exact address is provided after after payment and confirmation.

When will I receive the exact pool location?

Exact addresses are shared after your lesson booking is confirmed and payment is received to respect the privacy of our host families.

Do you offer lessons at my own pool?:

​Yes! You can request private lessons at your own pool. Travel fees may apply based on location. Use the “Request a Private Lesson” form on the website.

What is the pool temperature?

All host pools are heated to a comfortable temperature (around 85–90°F), but this may vary slightly depending on the host’s setup. If your child is sensitive to cooler water, a wetsuit is recommended, especially for early spring or winter sessions.

Do you offer swim boot camps or intensive sessions?

Yes! Boot camps and intensive series are offered during select weeks or holiday/school breaks. Be sure to follow @SwimmingWithAnnie on Instagram and FB group for announcements.

What should we bring to swim lessons?
  • Swimsuit (Arrive dressed and ready to swim) and Towel

  • Water bottle

  • Goggles (Optional, recommended for stroke development & improvement lessons)

  • Swim cap or hair tie (Required for swimmers with long hair)

  • A swim diaper for any child not fully potty trained

  • Wetsuit (Optional for cooler weather lessons)

  • Warm clothes to change into after the lesson

When should I arrive?

Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your lesson start time. Lessons begin promptly, and late arrivals cannot be extended.

Policies & Terms

Please review our policies carefully before booking. Booking a lesson means you agree to the following terms:

Registration & Payment Policy
  • A one-time $15 (yearly) registration fee per family is required.

  • A commitment of at least 4 lessons is required to book.

  • Lessons must be paid in full via Zelle withing 24 hours of booking.

  • Payment secures your spot. Lessons are not confirmed until payment is received.

  • Payment options:

Cancellation, Rescheduling & Refund Policy
  • No Refunds or Cancellations: Once lessons are booked, no refunds or cancellations are allowed.  This ensures all slots are utilized and prevents loss of opportunities for other swimmers.

  • No Rescheduling: We do not offer rescheduling for any missed lessons. Once a lesson is booked, it is considered final.

  • No-Shows and Last-Minute Cancellations: Missed lessons will not be credited or made up.  This policy is in place to respect everyone's time and maintain a fair schedule for all swimmers.

  • Courtesy Notice: If you can’t make it to the lesson, please let us know. While we cannot offer a refund, reschedule, or credit, we appreciate communication in advance.

Weather Policy
  • Lessons Held Rain or Shine: Lessons continue overcast or rain conditions.

  • Cancellations for Safety: If there’s lightning, thunder, or a severe weather warning, lessons will be canceled for safety.

  • Weather Cancellations: You will be notified via email or text if lessons are canceled due to weather conditions. We will do our best to notify you at least 1 hour before your scheduled lesson.

  • Rescheduling Weather Cancellations: If a lesson is canceled due to weather, we will make every effort to reschedule the lesson.

Potty Training & Bathroom Access
  • Children must be fully potty trained or wear a swim diaper and proper swimwear.

  • Access to host pool bathrooms is not guaranteed. Please plan accordingly before arriving at lessons.

 
Pool Waiver Agreement (for Host Pool Lessons)

All participants must sign a waiver agreement before attending lessons at a host pool. This is required for safety and insurance purposes. The waiver link is provided upon invoice and payment confirmation.
